you hear the drive from galveston to huntsville (less than 200 miles) is taking 10 hours?

Yeah, I'm not surprised. Although I'm not sure why they're coming this way. I've been getting "special weather statements" all day as to the possible effects this thing could have on OUR area (Dallas). Worst case scenario, it could still be a Cat1 hurricane by the time it gets here. It's more likely to "just" be a tropical storm, but there's that whole random tornadic activity thing. A lot depends on a strong high pressure ridge that's right about over Arkansas right now. If it weakens and moves off to the East... that could bring Rita straight for us. No doubt about it, we're all keeping a close eye on it.
